Most who write for the NYT can be presumed to look at events through an ingrained world-view of anti-capitalism (that is, anti-freedom), so his inability to appreciate the benefits of technological advancement is not unexpected. For that matter, it's a bit surprising that he didn't interpret tech progress as racist, somehow. Good post.
