I’ve changed the name of my blog from “Tactilicious” to “Hapticity.” I realize that this may cause a dip in pageviews and a bit of confusion. Here are the reasons for the change:

  • The domain name hack in “tactilicio.us” is not obvious; most people don’t notice it.
  • “Tactilicious” is difficult to pronounce.
  • Creating neologisms with -licious has gotten too popular and is beginning to annoy me.
  • The prefix “hapt-” emphasizes embodiment, which reflects the direction my writing has taken over the past couple of years.

I hope to keep the new title indefinitely. Hapticity is a term used in both chemistry and architecture. Let’s add interface design!
